At the Board of Supervisors meeting on March 12, 2024, Supervisor Foley asked the Office of Independent Review (OIR) and Orange County Sheriff’s Department (OCSD) to provide a list of policies recommended by the OIR. Additionally, Supervisor Foley asked that the list indicate whether the policies were implemented by the OCSD.
With the assistance of the OCSD, the OIR has prepared a document that provides statistical information showing the number of recommendations made, as well as, the number of recommendations implemented. The OIR made 27 policy recommendations to the OCSD. 17 of the recommendations have been implemented and 3 are in the process of being implemented. 3 of the recommendations were not implemented while the final 4 were considered, but ultimately not implemented.
