Filing a complaint with OC Probation

The OC Probation: The Orange County Probation Department is dedicated to serving the community through ethical, legal, and professionally sound practices. How to File a Complaint with Orange County Probation Department:

2. Complete the Form

   Fill out the form with detailed information about your complaint, including your name, contact details, and specifics about the incident. Be as precise as possible and attach additional pages if needed.

3. Submit the Form

   In Person: Deliver the completed form to a receptionist or supervisor at any Probation Department office.

4. By Mail: Send the completed form to:

What Happens Next:

After submitting your complaint, the Chief Probation Officer (or designee) will review it and send you an acknowledgment letter. The complaint will be investigated by the employee's supervisor or an Internal Affairs Investigator, and you may be contacted for further information. Upon completing the investigation, you will receive a letter outlining the general outcome. Complaints are classified as Founded (allegations are true), Actions Justified (incident was lawful and proper), Unsubstantiated (insufficient evidence), or Unfounded (allegations are false or incident did not occur).
